A guide for choosing containers for your plants
- The importance of matching containers with your plants is that the proper containers can help growth for your plants while making them look great. Thus, the size of the container is dependent on the size of the plant.
- Make sure that the dimensions of the pot you are looking for can fit in your plant
- Then choose materials, types and colors, which you like
- The most fittable pots should have drainage holes on the bottoms. The function of these holes is to drain excess water when watering the pot. If the water keeps stored at the bottom of a pot, it will lead to the root-rot issue and kill your plant.
- Don’t forget to clean your pots regularly. Keeping pots clean is helpful to prevent diseases. Especially, you want to reuse a pot, please clean it well both inside and outside.

How to Repot Houseplants
Houseplants will often outgrow their pots. Once the roots start circling the container, it is most likely time to give your plant a new home. This will allow the plant to continue growing. If you want to keep the plant in the same container, it is good to take it out of the pot and trim the roots. When you put it back in its pot you should use fresh soil. This will help keep the plant healthier.
Repotting Guide
Step 1: Water
Lightly water plant to help the root ball and soil slide out more easily.
Step 2: Remove
Flip the pot on its side and gently pull it away from the plant. Tap the pot on a counter to help release the plant from the pot.
Step 3: Clean
Clean the pot with hot soapy water to get rid of any diseases.
Step 4: Add
Add soil to the bottom of the pot and ensure the root ball is at least 1/2” from the bottom.
Step 5: Position
Place the plant in the pot and make sure it is centered and sitting up straight.
Step 6: Fill
Add potting soil around the plant in layers, pressing it down with your fingers until firm. Do not plant deeper than before.
